In trying to arrive at a fair price for Indigo Moon, we retained the services of a professional Marine Surveyor, Mr. Brian Stetler, who performed an out of the water survey of Indigo Moon on April 6, 2009.

The Survey resulted in a “clean bill of health” for Indigo Moon and there were no recommendations or deficiencies noted in the survey. The survey included an out of the water “sounding” of the hulls, thorough inspection of the vessel’s systems, and assessment of the vessel’s overall condition.

Pursuant to the survey, the vessel is valued at $300,000.00.

Of course, the survey value does not include the value of all accessories such as bicycles, kayak, and other ancillary equipment and sporting goods that are not considered component parts of the vessel.

In order to put the survey value in perspective, a bare-bones new Lagoon 380 now has a base price of approximately $400,000.00.

Today, in 2010, the cost of outfitting a new Lagoon 380 Owner's Version to the level of Indigo Moon requires approximately $85,000.00 in additional cost, not to mention the time delays and complications of installing major systems and then de-bugging them.

Add import and sales taxes, and the replacement value for Indigo Moon is approximately $500,000.00

In light of all the above and foregoing, a non-brokerage-fee fair asking-price for the vessel (with all of its additional equipment also included along with the vessel) is:

$299,000

Please keep in mind, however, that this is not a discount sale by distressed sellers. We are seeking fair offers from buyers who are willing to recognize and appreciate the condition of Indigo Moon and are ready to pay a fair price for a truly one-of-a-kind Lagoon 380 that is a pampered, proven, famous blue water cruiser.

Personal delivery of the vessel is available anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico, East Coast, or Caribbean for a nominal additional price to be negotiated on an “expenses only” basis. I would recommend that the very best scenario would be for the new owners to join me in the delivery so that I can assist them in learning as much as possible about the boat and its operation during the delivery. It would be my pleasure to spend generous amounts of hands-on time with the new owners so as to completely familiarize them with the vessel and share all the knowledge that I have accumulated about this vessel. After all, I want both the new owners AND Indigo Moon to be happy after the sale!
